Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and TaskHeroes when you post tasks, offer your services, or connect with other people on the platform.
Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and TaskHeroes (“we”, “us”, or “our”), the company that operates the TaskHeroes app and website (together, the “Platform”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, including the privacy notice in sections 15–20, which is our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use TaskHeroes.
About TaskHeroes
TaskHeroes is a marketplace that connects people. It helps customers who need a task done find service providers (“Heroes”), and it helps Heroes connect with one another to collaborate, subcontract, or share work.
TaskHeroes is only a venue and a technology provider. We are not a party to any agreement made between users, we are not an employer, employment agency, or contractor, and we do not ourselves provide the services that Heroes offer. Any contract for a task is strictly between the users involved.
Who can use TaskHeroes
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts to use TaskHeroes. By using the Platform you represent that you meet these requirements and that you are not barred from using it under the laws of the particular country where it is used, subject to the condition that use of the app is permitted in that country by TaskHeroes. The product is currently available for use only in India (Bharat).
TaskHeroes is not meant for children. We do not knowingly collect or process the personal data of anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor we will close it and erase its data, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) requires.
TaskHeroes is intended for lawful personal and business use only.
Your account
To use most features you must create an account with accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
Notify us immediately at hr@pdtservice.com if you suspect unauthorized use. You may hold only one account unless we agree otherwise, and you may not sell or transfer your account to anyone else.
How TaskHeroes works
Customers can post tasks describing what they need, when, and where. Heroes can browse tasks, make offers, and — if selected — carry them out. Heroes may also connect with other Heroes to team up on larger jobs.
Communication, scheduling, pricing, and payment terms for any task are agreed directly between the users. TaskHeroes may provide optional tools — such as messaging, listings, or reviews — to make this easier, but using them does not make us a party to your arrangement or responsible for it.
We do not verify users
TaskHeroes does not screen, vet, or verify its users. Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing:
- we do not verify the identity of any customer or Hero;
- we do not confirm anyone’s profession, skills, experience, qualifications, licenses, certifications, or insurance;
- we do not conduct criminal background checks or reference checks; and
- we do not guarantee that any user is who they claim to be, or that any information in a profile, listing, or message is true.
Any badges, ratings, or labels shown on the Platform are generated from user activity or user-provided information and are not an endorsement or guarantee by us. You are solely responsible for deciding whether to interact with, hire, work for, or work alongside any other user, and for satisfying yourself as to their suitability, honesty, and safety.
Your responsibilities & acceptable use
You agree to use TaskHeroes lawfully and respectfully. You are responsible for your own conduct, the accuracy of what you post, the tasks you agree to, and for complying with all laws, licensing requirements, and tax obligations that apply to you. You agree not to:
- post false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate anyone;
- offer, request, or perform anything illegal, dangerous, or that infringes the rights of others;
- harass, threaten, discriminate against, or harm other users;
- scrape data, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the security or operation of the Platform;
- send spam, advertise unrelated products, or upload viruses or malicious code.
We may remove content or restrict activity that we believe breaches these Terms.
Content you post
You keep ownership of the content you submit — such as listings, photos, messages, and reviews. By posting content you grant TaskHeroes a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and adapt that content only for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform — for example showing your task photos to nearby Heroes. We will not use your photos, name, or reviews in advertising or marketing without asking for your separate consent first.
You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to share it. This license ends when you delete your content, except where it has already been shared with others who have not deleted it, or where we must keep it to comply with the law.
Fees, payments & monetization
TaskHeroes is currently free to use. We reserve the right to introduce fees, commissions, subscriptions, or other charges in the future, and to change how the Platform is monetized. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice and you will be able to review any fees before they apply to you.
Unless we provide and clearly identify an official in-app payment feature, all payments for tasks are arranged and made directly between users. TaskHeroes is not responsible for collecting, holding, processing, refunding, or guaranteeing any payment between users.
Dealings between users
Because TaskHeroes is only a venue, any dispute, loss, injury, damage, or dissatisfaction arising from a task or from your dealings with another user is a matter between the users involved.
We are not obliged to become involved in disputes, though we may, at our discretion, offer tools or assistance to help resolve them. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release TaskHeroes from any claims, demands, and damages arising out of disputes with other users.
Third-party links & services
The Platform may link to or integrate third-party websites, tools, or services that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that any user or task will meet your expectations, or that any information on the Platform is accurate or reliable. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaskHeroes and its owners, directors, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, or for personal injury or property damage, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Platform, your interactions or transactions with other users, or the conduct of any user.
To the extent we are found liable, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TaskHeroes and its owners, directors, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, your content, your tasks or services, your interactions with other users, or your breach of these Terms or of any law.
Privacy notice: the personal data we collect and why
This section, together with sections 16–20, is our privacy notice under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025. TaskHeroes is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here and you are the Data Principal. We collect only what we need to run the Platform:
- Account details — your email address (used to send sign-in codes), your name, an optional phone number and profile photo, and your language preference. Purpose: to create and secure your account and to show other users who they are dealing with.
- Task details — what you post or bid on: descriptions, photos, budget, schedule, the task address, and your service categories, service area and radius if you are a Hero. Purpose: to match customers with nearby Heroes and let them agree on a task.
- Location — the address you type, and your device’s precise location only when you tap “use my current location” or open the nearby map, and only while the app is in use. Purpose: to fill in addresses and show tasks and Heroes near you. You can refuse or revoke this permission in your phone settings at any time.
- Messages, offers, reviews, reports and blocks between users. Purpose: to let users communicate, to show ratings, and to keep the community safe.
- Hero verification (KYC) — if you choose to verify as a Hero: your legal name, the type and number of a government ID, and photos of that ID. Purpose: to confirm that a Hero is a real person before enabling verified-only features. This is optional; you can use TaskHeroes without it.
- Device and technical data — a push-notification token, device identifier, app version, IP address and server logs, plus a record of when you accepted these Terms. Purpose: to deliver notifications, prevent abuse and fraud, keep the service secure, and meet our legal obligations.
- Support requests — what you tell us when you contact support, report a problem or raise a grievance. Purpose: to help you and to keep a record of how it was resolved.
We do not sell your personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles for any purpose other than running the Platform. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Consent and how to withdraw it
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give by accepting these Terms when you create your account, and — for location, camera, photos and notifications — through the permission prompts on your phone. Where the DPDP Act allows it, we also process data for the purpose you voluntarily provided it for (for example, to carry out a task you posted) and to comply with the law.
You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it, at any time:
- turn off location, camera, photo or notification access in your phone’s settings;
- turn off location use or push notifications in Profile → Privacy & data, which records the withdrawal;
- remove your phone number, photo or addresses from your profile;
- delete your account from Profile → Delete account, which withdraws consent for everything; or
- write to our Grievance Officer (section 20) and tell us what you want withdrawn.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew it. If you withdraw consent for data we need to run the service — such as your email address — we will not be able to keep your account open, and will close it as described in section 18.
Your rights under the DPDP Act
As a Data Principal you have the following rights. To exercise any of them, use the in-app options where they exist or write to our Grievance Officer (section 20). We will respond within 30 days and never charge you for it.
- Access — ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with. Use Download my data in Profile → Privacy & data to get a copy at any time.
- Correction and updating — fix inaccurate or incomplete data. You can edit your profile, addresses and tasks in the app yourself.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data. Deleting your account in the app does this; we will also erase data when the purpose it was collected for is over, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Grievance redressal — complain to our Grievance Officer about anything we do with your data, and get a response within the time stated above.
- Nomination — name another person who may exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to do so. Write to the Grievance Officer to record a nominee.
- Complain to the Data Protection Board of India — if you are not satisfied with how we handle your grievance, you may approach the Board set up under the DPDP Act.
You also have duties under the DPDP Act: give us accurate information, do not impersonate anyone, and do not raise false or frivolous complaints.
How long we keep your data, and how we protect it
We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above:
- Account and profile data — for as long as your account is open.
- After you delete your account — your account is closed immediately and your profile, addresses, open tasks, offers, chats, reviews and photos are erased within 30 days, unless we must keep specific records longer by law (for example to respond to a lawful request from a government authority, or to defend a legal claim).
- Hero verification documents — deleted once a verification decision is made and you no longer need verified status, or when you delete your account, whichever is earlier.
- Sign-in codes — expire within minutes and are not kept afterwards.
- Security and access logs — kept for up to 180 days, as Indian cyber-security directions require, then deleted.
- Inactive accounts — if you do not use TaskHeroes for 3 years we will remind you by email and then erase your data, as the DPDP Rules require.
We protect your data with reasonable security safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS), one-time sign-in codes instead of passwords, access controls and audit logs on our servers, and limits on who in our team can see personal data. If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India without delay, as the DPDP Act requires, and tell you what you can do to protect yourself.
Who we share your data with
We share personal data only where it is needed to run the Platform, and only with parties who are bound to protect it:
- Other users — the parts of your profile, tasks, offers, reviews and messages that the Platform is designed to show them. Your email address, phone number, exact address and ID documents are never shown to other users unless you share them yourself.
- Service providers (Data Processors) who act on our instructions — our hosting provider ([hosting provider and data-centre region]); a cloud storage service for photos; an email delivery service for sign-in codes; Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and Apple (Apple Push Notification service) to deliver notifications; and OpenStreetMap / Nominatim to show map tiles and look up addresses (they receive your device’s IP address and the area or text you search).
- Authorities — where the law requires it, or to respond to a lawful order from a court or government authority in India.
- A new owner — if TaskHeroes is sold or merged, under the same protections as these Terms, and we will tell you before this happens.
Some of these providers process data on servers outside India. We transfer personal data outside India only where the DPDP Act permits it and never to a country or territory the Central Government has restricted. Each processor is contractually bound to use your data only for the service it provides to us.
Grievance Officer and how to reach us about your data
We have appointed a Grievance Officer under the DPDP Act and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Contact them for any question, request or complaint about your personal data. We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days.
This notice is available in English and Hindi in the app — switch languages in Profile → Preferences. If you would like it in another language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India, write to the Grievance Officer and we will provide it on request.
Suspension & termination
You may stop using TaskHeroes and delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, or limit features at any time — with or without notice — if we believe you have breached these Terms, created risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the Platform. If we close your account, your personal data is erased on the timeline in section 18.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnities, and our data-retention obligations — will continue to apply.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules — the Platform is currently available for use only in India (Bharat). You agree that any dispute with TaskHeroes will be resolved by the competent courts of India, except where prohibited by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer, or as a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, that cannot be waived under applicable law — including your right to approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email and update the “Last updated” date above. If a change means we will collect new personal data or use your data for a new purpose, we will ask for your consent again before doing so, and you can decline. By continuing to use the Platform after other changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
